INTRODUCTION to K9 NOSE WORK

This introductory class is for those who have never done nose work (or scent work) before and would like to get started. We will cover the basics, including introducing the game to your dog, setting up scent puzzles, and reading your dog’s body language during a search. No obedience background is necessary.

Price: $150 per dog/handler team (includes 3 classes)
Class Size: 4 dog teams

In-Person Session Location: Aiea
** Exact address will be announced one week before the class date as location is dependent on weather forecast. Please do not ask for the address now.

Class Dates/Times: 

The following Saturdays from 3:30-5:00pm:

  • February 10
  • February 24
  • March 9

CONTINUING NOSE WORK

CLASSES

The classes will meet in public locations such as parks and parking lots in order to expose the dog teams to a variety of airflow and hide-sourcing challenges. Dog teams must have completed an Intro class and have a minimum of 3 months of training on your own after the Intro class.

Location: Central Oahu or Pearl City
Class Size: Up to 4 dog teams per class
Price: $40 per dog/handler team

Thursday Classes

Dates: February 1, February 8, and February 29
Times: 9:00-10:00am ~ OR ~ 10:00-11:00am

 

Sunday Classes 

Dates: February 11, February 25, March 10
Times: 3:00-4:00pm ~ OR ~ 4:00-5:00pm


PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS

Class Size: This can be for one to two dogs (same dog handler or two different handlers)
Location: Waialua
Duration: 45 mins for 1 dog; 60 mins for 2 dogs
Price: $45 for 1 dog; $60 total for 2 dogs

If you cannot make it to a group class, please contact me to book a private or semi-private lesson.

Requirements for participants:  Dogs of all ages, training levels (or lack thereof) and temperaments are welcome since we work with one dog at a time. Dogs should be comfortable being crated out of handlers’ sight. Participants must provide own crates.
